We join the UN theme for 8 March
“Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a Covid-19 world”
Gender balance in political participation and decision-making is an internationally agreed target set in the Beijing Women’s Declaration and Platform for Action. Under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, women have the same access as men to take part in and serve their governments.
This year we are celebrating women who at every level contributed in one leadership position or the other to the advancement of Humanity in Education and sustainable Development. This is also to mark the 20years of CSACEFA Anniversary as a National Coalition advocating for quality policy on education matters, programs and projects.
CSACEFA members all over the 36 states of the Federation conducted different activities to mark the 2021 International Women Day.
|CSACEFA Cross Rivers Celebrates women in Leadership on the 2021 International Women Day
I use this medium to sincerely congratulate all Women on this Platform, ALL WOMEN Members of The Cross River State Civil Society Network and indeed all Women across the world on The Occasion of the 2021 International Women’s Day Celebrations. I believe it is now the time more than ever to create equal opportunities for all our women in all our sectors of Development and Enterprise. Every physical or psychological limitations) barriers on our women instituted by cultures, traditions, religion and norms must be expunged immediately.
Women in Leadership in Nigeria or in other nations who are doing extremely well should convince us all that we need the full contributions of women to have a better society, the kind we all desire. Harmful practices that abuse the dignity of women must be fought to a standstill now as they also limit the potentials of women to maximize themselves in their chosen field. It is also important that Men and Women must use this year’s celebration to celebrate the knowledge of their shared Partnership.
Men and Women must understand their complementary roles in building a better and stronger society and not to see each other as competitors on who holds the highest position of command and control.
Men and Women should rather be complementing each other. There are numerous examples of women who have attained their peak in life but have continued to have a good and happy marriage to their Husbands.
Suffice me to only mention the newly Elected Director General of the World Trade Organization, Dr. Mrs. NGOZI OKONJO IWAEALA, who is one woman among several others with a meaningful relationship with their spouse.
I call on the Men folk to show solidarity with all women on this occasion, to pledge to allow women their due place in Society devoid of any conspired harm or danger to their person. I call on the Government to rise up to its responsibility of providing the enabling legal environment for all their women citizens to actualize themselves and to punish all forms of Sexual and Gender Based Violence for the benefit of the state and country.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WOMEN OF NIGERIA
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WOMEN ACROSS THE WORLD
CONGRATULATIONS TO MY WIFE, MY SISTERS, MY MOTHER AND ALL MY FEMALE FRIENDS AND COMRADES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR
